Meet The Team!
The mobile police station will be in your local area. Come and meet your Safer Neighbourhood Team and tell us about the issues causing the most concern in your community.

Crimes and incidents of interest from 1st March to 31st 2016

Mancel Lacy
Between 27th Feb and 11th March, theft of ride-on tractor lawnmower including 2 x padlocks to premises where it was stored.

Burghill
9th March. 2 males in the area offering to tarmac drives. The informant felt they were more interested in vehicles and were acting suspicious. The offer was declined and the males went on their way. Police informed.

Dormington
7th March. Informant reported finding 4 animal rights activists on private rural farm land. The group were confronted by land owner and complied with request to leave. At this point they have informed the owner that they were there to protest about the alleged badger cull. During their time in the area, minimal damage has been caused to a pheasant pen and squirrel feeder. Any incidents of similar nature should be reported immediately to police.

Moreton-on-Lugg
Local youths are reportedly using resident’s private driveways to ride scooters and bicycles on. SNT have given strong words against this to youths in the area in company of their parents.

Moreton-on-Lugg
Reports of local youths riding unauthorised motorbikes in an anti-social manner on Lugg View industrial estate. Please report at the time if seen via 101.

Moreton-on-Lugg
3rd March. 2 Males using a white ford transit van – registration NX13KDV. Company claiming to be “AJ HOME IMPROVEMENTS” have carried out roof maintenance work to a poor standard and charged the elderly homeowner an excessively large amount for the work carried out. After a price was agreed a further excessive amount has been charged. AVOID BEING SCAMMED! Trading Standards advice:

  • Always obtain 3 quotes before agreeing for work to be undertaken.
  • Never pay any money upfront, especially cash.
  • Never respond to flyers or door to door sales people. If in doubt JUST SAY NO and contact the police.

Credenhill
3rd March between 20:40 and 21:45 between the stated times, the victim has left their vehicle parked in Trenchard Avenue. During this time, vehicle has been scratched down to the metal. Scratch is approximately 3mm in width and covers both doors and rear quarter. It appears this damage has been caused by a sharp implement rather than a passing vehicle.

Bartestree
Reported on 23rd March, that overnight, victim’s outbuilding was broken into. Offender(s) have forced
padlock off wooden doors. Theft of chainsaw. A number of other garden tools and equipment left on scene.

Bartestree
Padlock removed with bolt cutters from the Bartestree Pavilion sheds. Theft of fuel from location. Believed
to be linked with above incident, occurring in early hours of 23rd March.

Bartestree
Offender(s) have gained access to victim’s garden and outbuildings. Damage caused to security lights in
the process of offender(s) looking around premises. No items taken.

Nunnington
Between 17th and 21st March, theft of twin axle trailer from rural location.

Moreton-on-Lugg and Marden – Reports from both areas received on 16th March. Suspicious males
seen selling household items door to door. SNT are happy to visit anyone who also received a visit and is concerned.

Hampton Bishop
Theft of Landrover. Between 19:00 on 30th and 09:20 31st March theft of vehicle from rural location. Offender(s) have snapped open padlock and chain allowing access to driveway. Once on site have found
a parked secure blue Land Rover Discovery vrm DU15OPB with an Ifor William flat bed trailer attached.
Land Rover and trailer have been removed by unknown means from location.

Tarrington
2 males in a white transit van were witnessed by neighbours taking 2 bicycles. The males claimed they
had permission from the owner who was not home at the time of incident. Despite being told not to, they
loaded the bikes and an old sink into the van before leaving the area.

Tarrington
Between 23rd and 24th of March; theft of Ifor William trailer from rural location. Offender(s) have entered the farm area and attempted to enter an alarmed workshop by using tools to force open the door. Entry was not gained and alarm did not sound.

Breinton
Between 23rd and 26th March. Theft of Ifor Williams trailer and heating oil from victim’s driveway.
Offenders have made their way across farmland causing damage to wire fencing in the process.
