Issued by Duncan Smart, Holmer & Shelwick Footpath Officer, 6th December 2021
Tuesday 23rd November – Walked 5.2 miles along all or parts of parish footpaths HO6, HO8A, HO10, HO13 and HO14, HO15, HO16 and HO17.
Apart from carrying out light trimming work with secateurs the main points to note were:
1) Blocking up of the dangerous access onto Munstone Road from The Furlongs path HO6
This was reported in October and when checked on 23rd November fencing had been fixed to stop the gateway from being bypassed.
2) Repair of broken HO13 stile
This was reported in October and allocated Balfour Beatty Ref:11111239. Plans were put in hand for the Ramblers to replace the stile in the New Year and Balfour Beatty were to deliver the replacement stile kit to the landowner. However, when I went to check the stile location to work out access for tools and equipment, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the old stile had been repaired by the landowner.
So, my thanks to the landowner for this timely repair.
The only other item to report is that the hard-working Parish Honda strimmer was booked into Ron Smith, Hereford for servicing on 22nd November and should, hopefully, be back in the Parish within the next week.
